Jane C. Prior

President

With over 20 years experience working in Asia, Jane Prior became involved with the BMDP as a volunteer in 1997 after her eldest son underwent a successful bone marrow transplant at the National University Hospital in Singapore. With large registers overseas, Jane has actively promoted the BMDP in Singapore recognising the urgent need to expand the local donor pool in order to have greater success in finding matched and unrelated donors for patients. She was elected President of BMDP in 2005 and thereafter, the organisation has implemented a number of new initiatives including corporate sector collaboration and greater widespread international outreach.  Today, BMDP is seen as a critical hub in the search for life saving stem cell transplants.

In her professional career, Jane has more than 20 years experience of marketing consultancy working with leading MNCs as well as regional companies across diverse sectors. Her engagements include consulting across a number of communications disciplines through to design and implementation of customised programmes. Jane is able to bridge the cultural chasm by combining knowledge of local customs and behaviour with global best practices. With strong leadership skills, Jane is actively sought after to provide support to senior management within various client organisations to drive teambuilding and development as well as change management initiatives.

Originally from the UK, Jane Prior is a Singapore Permanent Resident. In addition to her role with the Bone Marrow Donor Programme, she is Chairman of the Singapore Cord Blood Bank Ethics Committee. A frequent speaker at regional conferences, she is a keen proponent of the value of business relationships - a philosophy which underpins her approach to her commercial life and is reflected in everything that she does within the company.

Jane is married to a businessman and has three children. She quotes her mission in life as “being able to help people to build relationships and realise their true potential”.
